Ron Weems - Owner/Driver

Other Racing Experience: In the late '70s and '80s, Weems was one of the kings of L.A. street racing with his cars and on his motorcycles. After having a street racing accident in which his neck was broken, Weems gave up street racing forever.

After recovering from his injuries in the early '90s, Weems campaigned a Pro Street drag bike. The team raced throughout the US. During that period, Weems rode the Toy Factory Racing Pro Street drag bike to the first non-wheelie bar pass into the sevens (7.90et @ 173mph).

Weems left the sport to concentrate on his trucking business, Leading Edge Trucking. Ron then met his wife, Chris and they had two children. Focusing full-time on his family and their trucking business, the Weems' then purchased a second trucking company, R Trucking,Inc. Ron and Chris Weems have nurtured their companies into a success story. Even though Weems' success continued away from drag racing, his heart was never far from the sport.

More than 10 years later, with his company firmly established, Ron Weems made his comeback. He bought a Suzuki Pro Stock bike, which he raced in the NMRA Top Gas class. After he sold the Suzuki, Weems purchased a 1967 Pro Street Camaro and went heads-up racing in the PSCA Outlaw Street class.

Just as Weems had an impact on the racing world in the late '70s thru the early '90s, the drag racing circuit has witnessed the rebirth of one of the most dedicated teams to ever hit the track. They say history repeats itself. If that's true, get ready for a very exciting drag racing future for this team.
